๐ช Best Chocolate Chip Cookies Ever¶
Nothing else needs to be said. The title says it all.
Ingredients¶
- 1 cup Unsalted butter,
- 1 cup Packed Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 tsp Almond Extract
- 1/2 cup (125g) Sourdough Discard
- 2 1/3 cup All Purpose Flour
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips (mixed)
- 1/2 cup Chopped Pecans
Instructions¶
- Brown and lightly cool the butter
- Cream brown butter and sugars
- Add egg + yolk, vanilla and almond extracts, mix till glossy/pale
- Add discard and mix thoroughly until fully incorporated
- Whisk all dry ingredients in a separate bowl
- Add all the dry ingredients to wet, and mix until just combined with a spatula
- Fold in chocolate chips and pecans into dough
- Cover and chill for at least 2 hours, up to 72 hours
- Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes at 350*F
- If baking from frozen (pre roll dough) add extra 1-2 minutes
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, add extra chocolate chips on top while cooling, move to cool completely on wire rack after
- Store in airtight container for up to 5 days on countertop
