🇮🇹 The Worlds Best Lasagna

Original recipe here but with some tweaks. Very easy to make

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 Small-Medium Onions
  • 1/2 Large Carrot
  • 1 Pack of Sweet Italian Ground Pork
  • 1 Pack of Ground Beef (Can substitute for ground turkey or more sweet pork if making for Dharti)
  • 1 720ml Bottle of Strained Tomatoes
  • 1 Can of Tomato Paste
  • Lasagna Noodles (Need 9 Pieces, 3 per layer). The oven ready farmboy ones are good
  • 4 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Ball of Mozzarella Fresca
  • 1 Ball of Fiore de Latte (Can substitute for more Mozz)
  • Parmesean Cheese
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Pack of Riccotta Cheese
  • Fresh or Dried Basil
  • Fresh or Dried Oregano
  • Fresh Parsley
  • Italian Seasoning
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Chili Flakes
  • 1/2 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Dice the carrot and onion and mince the garlic
  2. Cook down the onion, carrot, and meat until the meat is brown. Throw the garlic in half way through.
  3. Add tomato paste and wait for it to get some color
  4. Add in all the seasonings and herbs
  5. (Optional) Deglaze with a splash of red wine
  6. Add in tomato puree and mix everything together
  7. Reduce heat and simmer for up to 1 hour
  8. In a mizing bowl, mix the ricotta with 1 egg and fresh chopped parsley and set aside
  9. Once sauce is done start layering by putting a base of the sauce. Then add lasagna noodles, ricotta, sauce, mozarella, parmesean. Doing 3 layers and then ending with a topping of sauce, mozzarella, and parmesean.
  10. Cook in a preheated oven at 375F for 25min covered with tin-foil and then 25 min uncovered
  11. Take out and let cool for approx 15min
  12. Sprinkle some parsley on top and serve
